Confidentiality & Privacy Policy

The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.

Exceptions include:

  • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
  • If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.

A copy of our most current Informed Consent is available at the Solace Counseling and Anxiety Center office. A copy will be offered to you at your initial session.

In order to schedule, change, or cancel an appointment please call Solace Counseling and Anxiety Center at (903) 952-3757. I will retrieve messages daily and will return your call within 24 hours. If you are calling regarding an emergency, please call911 or go to your local emergency room.

COMPLAINTS

If you believe my conduct as an LPC is in violation of your rights under the law, you may send a written complaint to Texas Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, 1100 W. 49 th St., Austin, TX 78756 or call 512-834-6658.
